The model comes with you, right up onto the roof.

Down on site the drawing already blew about in the wind, and up on the roof itself it was little use to you. Field-Viewer puts your digital site drawings and the 3D model together on a tablet and takes them up with you: onto the roof, the scaffold or the assembly position. If a dimension is missing up there, you measure it yourself. Not sure about the assembly order of a prefab element? Tap it and the right detail is there straight away.

Digital site drawings: a day on site

A day on site rarely goes to plan, but that changes nothing about the model. Vertex BD, Revit, ArchiCAD or an IFC export: on a tablet Field-Viewer works as a full IFC viewer, from the first dimension to the final check.

Early morning

Take a dimension on site, without waiting for the drawing office

The rafters are in place, but the section up on the roof is missing just that one connection dimension. In the past you would stop the work for it and wait for a call back from the drawing office. With Field-Viewer you tap the point in the model yourself and read off the dimension, up on the roof, in the time you would otherwise still have been on the phone.

Around midday

The assembly order of the prefab elements

On a delivery with several prefab walls the assembly order is no side issue: place the wrong element first, and the rest no longer fits. Tap a panel in the model and you see the detail that goes with it straight away, including the penetrations and connections you would otherwise only discover as you lift it.

And when the signal drops

The model keeps working without a connection

On some sites there is barely any signal: a shed without wifi, a new development with no mast nearby yet. Field-Viewer keeps showing the model and keeps recording measurements without a connection. As soon as there is a signal again, everything syncs to the drawing office by itself, without you having to look after it.

Would you rather work from an IFC file than from a direct Vertex BD link? On a tablet Field-Viewer serves just as well as an IFC viewer, with the same three moments above.

Rain, gloves and a handrail: the screen keeps doing its job

On site the weather decides, not the office. It has just started raining, your gloves are on, and up on the scaffold you need a hand for the rail or the harness. Field-Viewer is built for that: large, high-contrast buttons you can hit with work gloves on, a screen that stays readable in harsh backlight on a roof pitch, and a tablet in a sturdy case that survives a drop when it does slip out of your hand.
